This is my 6th day on Mastodon. Just wondering whether I will survive here long. I am thankful that I got out of Twitter.Twitteritis can be a terrible addiction. But Mastodon seems to be a wilderness. Not many people here.Seems to be the outer confines of cyberspace. I prefer to be on the Internet Highway where the crowds are.I don't care for the lonely countryside Prefer the big cities.M. is just another lonely club. For loners and the like. And I am allergic to cats.

@procyon8x there are a lot of people here, it's just that is s bit more work to find them. Check the federated timeline on your instance to see more posts and maybe find interesting people.

@procyon8x I've included a screenshot of the toolbar of the app i use, tusky, but the same icons are used in a few different apps and also i think on the website. Far left is a menu. Then is the feed of everyone i follow. The bell is my notifications. The next one of the two little people is a feed of everyone on my instance. The globe on the right is the federated timeline. That is everyone on the entire fediverse that my instance knows of.

@procyon8x so on the federated timeline, i find everyone on my instance, everyone they follow and every boosted toot (repost (like a retweet)) from everyone on my server and everyone they follow. It's the entire observed fediverse from my server's perspective. On a big instance, the local timeline will be very busy by itself. On a small instance, the federated timeline is a good way to find interesting posts and people.

@celesteh Thanks a lot. Understood all you said. Checked the timeline. Not many from my country on Mastodon. Waiting for the exodus from Twitter!

@procyon8x there were a bunch of signups from India a fortnight ago. Many of those accounts went to mastodon.social and one other instance that I'm trying to remember the name of. There was talk of setting up some more local servers. (Apologies if my assumptions are incorrect.)Looking for hashtags related to your issues may also help.

After reading his 1st post, I rather see him leaves the fediverse, Charles.Let the peace remain.---Just wanna share with you, the other instance is https://mstdn.social, we started just the time when mass Indian users move in. Users base grown to thousands in less than 1 week. Currently 5.06k users on board on this instance alone.95 % from India, I believe.---I proposed for more small local instances which makes it difficult for governement ban but no one is forward.@celesteh
