@pounce majaro is the linux mint to arch's ubuntu.what i'm trying to say here is install gentoo. or debian.

@cat was thonking about gentoobut i don't have any experience with its initreally considering it though because i could have set up this computer already with my own crap in the time it's getting manjaro ready :blobangery:

@pounce assuming you mean OpenRC: 1) it's pretty basic and not-hard, 2) you can use systemd on gentoo anyway

@cat hmmmmmaybethis computer has just always been a nightmare and i was thinking about doing something easythe CPU's good but it's a bit old too so it'll probably take a bunch of resources to compile...that being said im quite chilly and the heater's broken so maybe compiling a linux kernel is what i need

@pounce yeah, kernel complication is a huge pain (unless you use genkernel or something, which i don't 'cause it confused me). i sat down and worked through it years ago and have just been keeping the .config backed up since then.
