       I know this will sound whacko, but I use catnip oil spray as a mosquito repellent. It works as well as DEET.  I get it from the pet supply store. Kosmic Katnip brand is particularly effective. Not all are the same. Avon Skin-So-Soft works well, but the scent is cloying and becomes intolerable quickly. @MacGueurle
