#AndrewCoyne in the *NP*"Where the Tories seem intent on bribing voters, one absurdly microtargeted tax credit after another, the Grits prefer to swindle them, with policies so devoid of detail or any sense of how they could be practically achieved that they dissolve on contact."https://nationalpost.com/news/politics/election-2019/andrew-coyne-bad-policy-versus-no-policy-the-real-difference-between-the-conservatives-and-liberals#canpol

Liberals promise "not merely to reduce Canada’s greenhouse gas emissions to 30 per cent below 2005 levels by 2030 — a target it is nowhere near, and not likely to achieve — but to reduce them to “net zero” by 2050. How would it succeed in such a remote and exalted ambition, when it has failed so signally in the present?I’ll let the environment minister, Catherine McKenna, answer: “The point is right now, we need to get elected… If we are re-elected we will look at how best to do this.” Oh."

@mpjgregoire Ouch. "We have no idea how we'll do this, but we promise to figure it out if we get re-elected."I mean, sure, an election campaign may not be the time for substantive policy debate (not sure I agree, but this gets tossed around a lot), but at least give SOME sense of how you'll achieve what you promise, otherwise it's just another campaign promise that people don't believe you'll honour.
