       @mpjgregoire Firstly, I need to draw a distinction between independence supporters and independence activists. The former are about half the population, the latter a few hundred thousand. Of the activists I've spoken to face-to-face, every single one was a republican. I have seen activists say online that they are also monarchists, but even then it is rare.Overall, the support for the monarchy is much lower in Scotland than it is in England. There have been a few surveys on this topic.

       @fitheach I thought the pur et dur independentists (is there a preferred term in Scotland?) would probably be republicans as well.Do you think that there's much republican sentiment among those who wish to remain in the UK?

       @mpjgregoire The independence activists are the more dedicated ones, they are doing things in an attempt to bring about their objectives. It is my experience that the vast majority are republican.I would suspect that support for the monarchy will be higher among Unionists, but I haven't seen data to support that assertion.
