You know how I know transwomen aren’t women? Because they are believed. Everything they say is true and is taken at face value, no question. Trans women say in a survey they have been harassed for being trans and they are believed. Those survey statistics are then used as proof of how hard life is for them and why we should protect them with laws. The same with the bathroom thing, even though - as far as actual proof goes, there is not one case of a trans woman being harmed in a men’s bathroom. (If you know of any, please share with me.)So, quick poll - in your entire lives, dear women, how many times would you say you have been harassed by men? I also wonder if you were believed if you told anyone, and did anyone you told care. Please elaborate in comments if you wish.

@RadicalMe18 Catcalls (and I'm not even pretty). Coming from college one night a guy creeped behind me and passed his hand between my legs. I had to hitchhike 7 AM to go to college one day (public transport bus strike) and a 50+ year old man picks me up, says he's director of a bank close to the college I went, cool to talk to, then he slides one if his hands between my legs and starts talking sex with me, had to wait for red light then ran out of car like a bat out of hell, etc. Plenty more stories of the kind.

Chased down the street at about 2am by three men who jumped out of a car when I crossed the st. I was with a male friend who was short and skinny. We out ran them because they were big burly guys. Then they jumped back in the car and chased us again. I pulled my friend down a side st and ran up to a house and hid in the doorway while they prowled around in the car looking for us. I was about 24 this was in Brighton.@MacGueurle @RadicalMe18

I've been chased and attacked by men - individuals and groups. It is terrifying. I'm sorry that happened to you. @Moonbuggy @MacGueurle @RadicalMe18

We didn't even report it. And I didn't change any of my behavior. I guess I just took it in my stride which is sad. It's normal for women.@Iz @MacGueurle @RadicalMe18

@Moonbuggy @Iz @RadicalMe18 I was so freaked out, I didn't even know I could report those. I talked about it to my parents, no one said anything. Nothing at all. So realized I was on my own to deal with this

Grace, I didn’t have time to read this blog earlier so I did now and it is so powerful and true. Thanks for posting. It’s also so true that men will tell us how to survive (when we have always been doing that) and also they will be naive and think that they and the men surrounding them are not capable or do not have the potential to overpower a woman and rape her. But women know that, and know there isn’t a “type”.@grace_hawthorn @MacGueurle @Iz @RadicalMe18

@Moonbuggy @MacGueurle @Iz @RadicalMe18 ah, thank you. i wrote it in a state of absolute fury after a mandatory security training workshop where one of the male trainers was adamant that sexual violence came in the category of 'personal responsibility'. It was one of those moments where i'd heard it one time too many 😉

I absolutely agree. Changing our behaviour to try to minimise threats does not in any way mean accepting responsibility for the actions of rapists. Women are not responsible for male violence. @grace_hawthorn @Moonbuggy @MacGueurle @RadicalMe18

@RadicalMe18 One of my councellors at the Y was accused of pedophilia. He was very much adored by all the children including myself. I don't know if he did it or not. But he got me alone in a car and I was rather upset cause he said he was leaving... I was a pissed off 8 year old... so nothing happened. But now I find it a tad suspicious. My mom was upset about it.
