Reading up on Swedish research into gender dysphoria and children and how that's handled here.Ooof its a mess of info, and it doesn't get better because transphobic people cling to this information as if it was a raft on a stormy sea.I mean the best critical research can get hijacked to shit by them which sucks on such a majestic level.

@jex The issue is that the method used here is wavey and weird and not very efficient to divide between gender dysphoria and other issues,I don't really know what the video you posted does for that subject, but I will watch it more indepth just out of curiosity on the subject.

@ohyran Its more about his own way to do hormone replacement therapy. Not that much about sweden but will teach you what drugs to try and avoid and what they do to you permanently.

@ohyran @jex I am confused because all through the 80s and 90s I as active and don't recall any really unhappiness, Perhaps it was the liberation scene we had that joined nearly every left-ish rebellion as a single cause, and at least created a reinforced culture Now it seems 50% suicide attempts, high rates of mental distress, I don't get itCould be professionals needing quick results ignoring long term effects aka cognitive/behavioral

@johnbessa @jex That sounds like mistaking the issues for the statistics though. For example, Sweden have the highest rape statistics in the Europe. Now either that can mean that there is more rape, a casual glance my grant that logic. Seen closer you see that its because our definition of "rape" is more restrictive and contains things that constitute "sexual assault" abroad as well things that are legal abroad. So we need to be careful with statements like that.

@ohyran Damn. I'd think Sweden was a bastion of tolerance and acceptance. :(

@garpu well crap exists everywhere. Actually it IS a relevant discussion, there is way too little research into methods to handle, and more importantly detect, gender dysphoria in young people properly. So research is a good thing.Buuuut, there are assholes everywhere sadly who will cling to any research like this and wave it like a banner saying "we need to stop any gender ideas!" Sadly, but that seems to be life :/
