@Barb Well, my brother completely changed. He now has tons of friends and a busy social life.We're not going to be able to live together after all. He's going to be inviting people over all the time, and I'm not up for it.I'll go and house sit until he sells everything here, but I'm going to have to find my own place.I've known for a long time that it wasn't going to work. My life is completely internal. I need solitude in order to have peace of mind.

@ThomasWic have you considered northeast? New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont are great. Full of peace and quiet. Lowest crime in the country I think. Relatively inexpensive. Everything’s spacious with awesome New England nature. Four real New England seasons. Plus No sales tax in NH, It’s a great place for solitude And it’s all close enough to Boston if it’s ever needed.

@ThomasWic I feel the same way, Thomas! I’m not looking for trouble BUT If it comes my way I’m prepared to defend myself. To be honest with you I haven’t ran across many crazies where I live. We have constitutional carry in Mississippi. You never know who’s carrying a firearm. I reckon i could find trouble if I looked for it hard enough. @ThomasWic I equate them to one of the big cats. They are always looking for some weakness in people that they can take advantage of just like a leopard or cheetah looks for the weakest among a herd of gnus. I know what you mean. I feel the same scan and I think it has probably saved my life several times over the years. I also am able to project a "Don't mess with me or else" aura. It has worked everytime so far. @ThomasWic @Joycevor recently drove through Tennessee on vacation, and passed through Chattanooga. Smoky Mountains are pretty cool and had a chance to take in Ruby Falls. Definitely a must if geological wonders are your thing.Anyway I think that having seen the area it's not a bad place to get away from it all.

On a trip once we ended up stopping in Tennessee,we had driven all night and found this out of the way diner(it was closed) so we got a few hours sleep and later went in,had breakfast, then spent the day just relaxing .I thought it was "God's Country" I wanted to just stay forever.

@ThomasWic @Joycevor I am a Tennesseean and I highly recommend it! I absolutely love where I live. I'm in a big log cabin house on 5 acres of land in the middle of the woods. The most excitement I get around here is watching the wildlife outside. Today on my lunch break (I work from home) I watched a bunch of hummingbirds swarming the hummingbird feeders and saw 4 adult deer with an adorable baby deer that was jumping around, playing. Plus we have no state income tax. :)

@ThomasWic @Joycevor Too cold in Tennessee and North Carolina. Consider the west coast of Florida. Very red and extremely relaxing. You can walk on the beach for miles without being bothered. I'm alone when I feel like it and can interact as necessary. However, I'm still near my mother and siblings; so there's a lot to be said for being closer to Tim.Decisions, decisions...Island life has it's advantages.

@ThomasWic So true. There are times when you just can’t go back. I haven’t been able to live around my brothers most all my life. They know nothing much about me other than I’ve had 8 back surgeries. I tried that one last time (because my mom got relocated back there after my dad passed). I stayed 4 years and was mostly miserable. Content to be back in TEXAS!!

@ThomasWic @Barb Sad to hear this Thomas. I have been wondering when you were finally going to move to Vegas.I enjoyed all the stories over the past few years about you and brother. Have been rooting that you would find a pool free of Chinese snot...I am certain "all will be well" for you.

@ThomasWic @Joycevor Best of luck to you Thomas. I think you will find peace in your own place. I also hope you can be close again to your brother.My wife & I are going to Nashville and Gatlinburg next weekend. We are looking for place to retire in a couple years.
