This guy was severely mentally ill--but he knew right from wrong.I'm now convinced that there's no such thing as being unable to tell right from wrong.I think it's hardwired into all of us, and the requirement is that we choose.Life is about learning and improving. THAT is the meaning of life.There is definitely a Creator. I've seen too much evidence to deny the existence of God.But I'm not religious.

Religion is GREAT.It's just not for me. I'm unable to join groups. My ideal religion would be a giant cathedral open all day and night.We could go in and sit, and there would be clerics present to speak to us if we asked.Although I'm not religious, I can clearly see that religions of light have far more power than Satanism.This, for example. @ThomasWic I knew a woman who's family had a history of mental illness. After her first child, her post partum depression developed into post partum psychosis. She had herself committed when she said she heard voices telling her to kill her baby. She said the voice was very strong, but she just knew in her heart that it was wrong and God would not forgive her if she killed her child. Her story confirmed for me that people do indeed know right from wrong.

Everyone else, when they meet G-d, have a life review, which because now that they are in the presence of ultimate good, is very painful when you realize how you have hurt others. @ThomasWic I had an experience last year. I was driving in rural ND, which is most of the state and came across a building in the distance that I had not noticed before. The closer I got the more I understood the scale. I was dumbfounded I had not noticed it before. It is Assumption Abbey, a Benedictine monastery still housing monks in the middle of nowhere in ND. If you get there at the right time in the morning, you will find the monks singing in the sanctuary.

I agree with the Jewish understanding that “HaSatan” will be our accuser as we stand before G-d. Grandma Estelle was a former audacious flapper from the 20's-30's who was one of the first women in the US to earn a PhD in Chemistry. @DuaneCates @ThomasWic Duane, you reminded me also of King Solomon. Solomon prayed for wisdom from God so that he could help those around him. Not wealth and not power. But....The wisdom Solomon gleaned also gave him the contractual knowledge over the fallen angels (or demons). And the "Keys of Solomon" discusses that contractual nature and it is reported that Solomon used demonic help to build the original temple.It is a rather interesting work.

Was Baptized in 1954, fortunately had a very strong family and tended to take my religious beliefs seriously at a young age.(Although did go thru the rebel age later) Did find my way back. The captain informed us to assume crash positions as folks started loosing their shit.The guy sitting next to me continued sipping his drink as I looked over to him and said 'It's a good day to die". Was speaking to a friend about the death cult, aka satanism a bit ago and spot on Thomas about the fear of death pushing many to take other lives for power. It is a long process of grooming to get to the place where no light enters a life and they consciously choose this path. Wzi I also agree that all individual paths are "perfect" but we also get to CHOOSE that path, it is not foisted upon us.Personal responsibility is key.

From a self-respect perspective and the peace and goodwill I choose... Some folks' "perfect path" has been destructive and opportunistic to my and my loved ones' paths, and I no longer have any second thoughts about exercising calm discernment that can result in me kicking such people and their perfect paths to the curb.

When we try to find G-d by our own will, we cry, we pray, we bargain, we light candles, give money, we try to look virtuous, but in the end all we find is "religion." I'm not saying that G-d can't be found in religion, but it is more productive to just quit running around, be still and let Him find us.

Was camping with students and professors off a beach on Ossabaw Island, off Georgia coast. One night, I felt restless, and a subtle call. @ilumanous 2/2 I got up from the fire ring... and padded out barefoot alone on the damp, soft sand to the edge of the receding water. I was so far out, it felt like I was surrounded by stars and ocean. @ilumanous 3/2 I was completely sober. The feeling of communion and being beyond my physical body was indescribable. I knew it was a glimpse of heaven. 1.@barrsniffsatjejuneanalysis I don't have the patience to go into it now, but G-d made it very clear that he existed, when in 2000, he gave me a day so perfect and so filled with his presence (it was in Rome, and I found G-d not only in the Vatican (believe it or not, as I am a Jew) but in the Rome Synogogue as well. I had a premonition then that my faith was about to be tested and that my life was going to fall apart, and that I had to hang on to that day with all my strength, because I was going to need it. @ThomasWic I have to believe the scenario you spoke of with the cathedral open all day and night exists. And that there is a cleric present to speak to people if they asked as well. It sounds perfect. I'm not religious either but have a strong faith in God and Jesus. This kind of choir, chanting is incredibly beautiful and spiritual to me.
