Ugh, still getting random WIFI disconnections on Ubuntu MATE 19.04.The Ubuntu distros don't work with my WIFI and Arch distros don't work with my printer.Pretty frustrated right now tbh.

@koyu I don't want to keep hopping distros just to find one that works. I'll leave that as a last resort.I'm just a little annoyed it's already as hard as it is to find a distro that meets my basic requirements.

@ChrisWere Arch doesn't work with your printer but Ubuntu does? That's weird, CUPS is CUPS.

@ChrisWere what chip is your WiFi? I had a similar issue and was able to fix it with a little work around. I’ll find you the link.

@ChrisWere I've totally been in that same corner before. A new version of something comes out, I jump right in, and it won't work with my graphics card and dual monitors. Switch to some other distro, scanner doesn't work.

@kev Thanks for the help, but something's up with the page.Mine's an Intel card, so I don't think it's the same as the one in the URL.

@kev Yeah, that's basically the only advice the community support has offered up so far.

@ChrisWereThat's so annoying, sorry to what that. I had a similar problem with Bluetooth and found out it was the BT/Wifi card by using an external USB one and it working. Any chance something like that may get you closer to a solution?

@ChrisWereThat's so annoying, sorry to hear that. I had a similar problem with Bluetooth and found out it was the BT/Wifi card by using an external USB one and it finally working. Any chance something like that may get you closer to a solution?Edit: I made a typo

@ChrisWere VM? Is there such a thing as a printer-passthrough?With LXC the entire thing might be made into a script.

@ChrisWere how are you configuring the printer? Have you tried using cups directly?

@ChrisWere you could add a newer wifi driver on ubuntu. e.g. downloading the binary blob from the arch package site

@ChrisWere Do you by any chance have `11n_disable=8` in /etc/modprobe.d/iwlwifi.conf? If so, try change the number to 1.

@ChrisWere What's your printer?I was surprised that AUR has packages for all Brother printers. Installing the driver for my printer was very easy, and I couldn't find it before on Linux Mint.
