Castro— “trans female” is a weird way to put that, particularly in the context of reproductive health, because they were talking around (instead of saying) “abortion,” and I’m not sure if you were just saying, “Trans women are women!” or if you were saying trans men are females or... if you were saying all trans people need access to reproductive health care and choice.

Both candidates who mentioned trans people exist at all, talked about trans issues in such awkward ways that I am 100% sure they have no trans people in their life who trust them enough to actually discuss issues relevant to trans people, and that says a lot to me.
