Are people genuinely arguing over the semantics of calling these concentration camps 'concentration camps'?Liberalism having an absolutely normal one.

@hay People living in a country whose government runs concentration camps tend to get uncomfortable about living in a country whose government uses concentration camps when those concentration camps are called “concentration camps.” They want everyone else to do the “polite” thing and use a euphemism for concentration camps so they don’t have to hear “concentration camps.”Make the liberals uncomfortableAmplify the dissonance between their beliefs and reality

@SelfsameSynonym It's actually incredible. Here in Germany we had people argue that nobody knew about Auschwitz after Nazi Germany was defeated. This went so far that even a post-war chancellor made that argument. But thanks to historians we now know that if you weren't a child at the time, you knew. There's definitely some kind of dissonance going on with stuff like this.

@hay it’s going to be the same goddamned thing here down to the conservatives saying they were the victims and liberals saying there was literally no way to oppose it
