@lanodan that, but also to get more people talking about the things they're passionate about in a more permanent and postable medium. Also, because I imagine most of my followers have similar passions to me, I think it helps to get more discussion around topics I care about too, like FOSS and privacy and such

@ContainsLiquid no restrictions on topic, just something you're passionate about. So far as word count is concerned, just put a reasonable amount of effort into it and make it show. I put about 1-2 hours of work into each article, but I'm pretty experienced at writing, so maybe 2-3 hours of work.

@sir I want to write about the difference between "users" and "contributors" in open source and how Facebook and Google marketing methods have created a generation of entitled users who think that "community = users = relevant". People who wouldn't dream of contributing but get upset when they are not treated as clients, who think "you're not a loss" is the worst insult when they threaten that a project will loose them as users if the project creators and contributors don't do what they say.

@ohyran @sir To be fair, jet fuel burns at around 1030C, while steel melts at around 1370C.The only way burning jet fuel could harm steel beams would be if there were extra factors, such as weight on top of the steel beams or some kind of impact. I find that unlikely.(/s, in case that's necessary)
