@pbandkate @nuttgodd @clarjon1 once again, don't condone the behavior at all, but that's a culture issue between Mastodon and Twitter in a lot of ways, even if it's a shitty thing to donot like I haven't seen popular types on here do the same thing too, fwiw, not naming any namesI know a lot of folk who've been harassed by rabid fans on the fediverse, usually in regards to a "well meaning block recommendation" or something along those lines

@pea like i think that there's a real benefit to blocking and moving on, but given that so many of us came to mastodon to escape exactly that kind of twitter culture, i dont think its surprising that people have a visceral reaction to seeing that here. i do think that everyone will get it out of their system within the next 18–36 hours though and that this will just be one more blip on the timeline of fediverse "drama"

@pbandkate @pea There are also a lot of people on here for pretty much the exact opposite reason (they felt like Twitter was over moderated) so it's kind of a given that there'd be a culture clash on fedi too.
