@pea @clarjon1 @nuttgodd i agree with the fediverse is for everyone in spirit, but when people from his instance are already coming into people's mentions to harass them when they've been on the platform for less than a day, i'm not so sure

@pea like i think that there's a real benefit to blocking and moving on, but given that so many of us came to mastodon to escape exactly that kind of twitter culture, i dont think its surprising that people have a visceral reaction to seeing that here. i do think that everyone will get it out of their system within the next 18–36 hours though and that this will just be one more blip on the timeline of fediverse "drama"

it's fine to not want to go on meds, and it's good to be critical about the pharma industry, but going on medication literally saved my life and has saved the lives of many others so please at least use some nuanced care in your "psychiatric meds are bad and we're all overmedicated" takes

not gunna lie, pretty disappointed to see "we're not taking sides we just dont want to get kicked off the play store this has nothing to do with gab the instance" used as the excuse to block gab as opposed to "it's a platform for bigots, by bigots." like yeah it's the right decision which is good and all but it's a pretty cowardly way to make it.
