To impeach Trump, a member of the House of Representatives files an impeachment resolution with a committee, usually the Judiciary Committee.The committee decides by majority vote if the entire House will vote.In the House, simple majorities decide if the impeachment goes to trial in the Senate.The House chooses "managers" who are the prosecutors.

The Senate trial is an actual trial.The Senators are the jury. Trump would have his own lawyers mount a defense.At the end of the trail, the Senate votes. A two-third majority is required to convict.If Trump were convicted, he would immediately be removed from office, and Pence would become president.

We've recently heard that Attorney General Barr is investigating the Trump investigators.But if the House impeaches Trump, and there's a trial in the Senate, then Trump's lawyers get to present all that evidence themselves.Impeachment is the destruction of the Democratic party.Is that what Trump wants? @ThomasWic I don't think it's the plan, but I do think it's an option. I think Trump's ultimate goal is to end the political corruption. That can't happen without the destruction of the Democratic party as currently constituted. Rather than one grand plan, I think Trump has 10 contingency plans that all result in the same end: the eradication of the DNC.Because at this point, the DNC is more of a socialist criminal cartel than a political party, and America can't heal until it's gone.

The heightening of rhetoric does several things: 1) Energizes Republicans. 2) Splits radical and moderate Democrats. 3) Turns off centrists and swing voters. 4) Sets the stage psychologically for the storm of Spygate. Trump could not have gone after Obama & Hillary in January 2017, because the public would have believed MSM claims that it was "banana republic" revenge. But as a counterattack, it will feel justified.
