How in the hell do you change the date format in #GNOME Nautilus? And don't say recompile

@matt I'm guessing it's squirreled away in Gnome register or something. I have no basis for this assumption except that it seems any customization on Gnome has to be filtered through The Registry.

@klaatu @matt AFAIK, GNOME date formats are coordinate with your locale settings. I assume Nautilus is the same.

@mattUse dconf editor to change the relevant value in org.gnome.desktop.interface, or install a Gnome extension to facilitate this for you.

@bennydarshan Just checked. Locale settings have nothing to do with it, it is hard coded into Nautilus, and requires a recompile to fix.Dolphin correctly shows the date format how I want, while Nautilus does not, and I have made no changes to my locale.

@matt I apologize for giving you the wrong idea!I know that this is the case for the shell itself, so I was hoping to lead you in the right direction. Sorry that it ended up as a decoy, glad that dolphin works for you.

@bennydarshan Its just one of those minor niggles about Gnome that makes it difficult to like, ya know?
