       Managed to get my BT headphones connected to my Ubuntu Dell XPS laptop - turns out it was missing the drivers for the BT controller ...https://www.nielsvandermolen.com/bluetooth-headphones-ubuntu/ provided the magic sauce, a link to https://github.com/winterheart/broadcom-bt-firmware

       @jim For my Linux desktops, I tend to add an external Avantree Leaf/USB for bluetooth since it can connect using aptX or AAC (which are proprietary codecs not available for use in the Linux bluetooth stack). I'm not sure if it makes a huge sound quality difference though.

       @djsumdog Interesting, thanks. I've tended to use only wired devices with desktops, which is simpler but leads to a bit of a tangle sometimes!
