soif management acknowledges that your job is impossible given your constraintsand also says you have to complete your jobdoes that mean they are implying you have to ignore the constraints

@ky0ko It's always possible that you're up a creek with a certain role.Best bet: make them clarify priorities. Reword as needed: "*we* can't do all of these. Which is number 1 priority?" If there are more than 3 priorities, you might ask for the first three, but make it clear that they need to do their job by setting the priorities and dealing with limits.I hope you aren't up a creek.

@ptvirgo there aren't really any priorities. it's"here is your task. here are the constrains. this task is impossible to perform with these constraints. you must perform it anyway. good luck."

@ky0ko Any way you can make the prioritize which constraint to break?

@ptvirgo i think that would require them to admit that they want us to break constraints and i think they aren't willing to admit that

@ky0ko Ouch. What you are describing is very unprofessional on their part. You'll have to use your best judgment - sometimes it's good to put up, sometimes it's important to push back. It's rare to find management that has your back, so finding the right balance is important.I hope it works out!

@ky0ko i'd confront them with"Do you want me to not do the task or ignore the constraints" to whatever the result.Mostly because I hate things that are pursposefully not said but clearly implied.
