@mike @deejoe It's a matter of perspective!In my perspective normal people do not willingly submit themselves to corporate surveillance and VC shenanigans and psychological manipulation of our negativity biases and being pummelled by useless ads, yet want to have conversations with fellow humans. We are my normal people. :-)

@Satsuma Hmm. I have heard people advocating that large instances are somehow bad? I don't have a well thought out opinion on that though.On a quick look most people that are not on masotdon.social seem to be on octodon.social, social.coop, and toot.cat...

@sajith having everyone one on a small number of instances essentially recentralizes the platform and they tend to have a worse moderator:user ratio, but a lot of it comes down to personal preferenceI like instances around 1500-2000 users, personally, I feel like its the sweet spot between having a lively timeline and maintaining a distinct community, but like I said, personal preference
