@Satsuma Hmm. I have heard people advocating that large instances are somehow bad? I don't have a well thought out opinion on that though. On a quick look most people that are not on masotdon.social seem to be on octodon.social, social.coop, and toot.cat...

@whjms I do have an account there (which I probably should visit more often) but I am looking for a more general purpose instance. :-)

@Satsuma True. I guess having multiple admins/moderators is also a good sign.I don't ever look at the local or federated timelines, so there's that...

@ehashman I was looking at .cat TLD for reasons and saw this:"Warning!Warning: the registration contract for domain names in this extension require that you publish at least one page in Catalan within 6 months."🤔

Today I learned that there are more kinds of woodpeckers in the US than I can reasonably hope to identify. This one seems to be a red-bellied woodpecker, from the location and call it made. https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Red-bellied_Woodpecker/

@djsumdog I think @skiring is pretty annoyed by them hammering away on their house's sidings. :-)

@fitheach Even the Queen of England had her "annus horribilis"... :-)I for one appreciate stories of every day life from normal people like you and I who do not happen to be a queen or a king or famous or rich.I suppose every day life would get a bit boring without some excitement like this!

@fitheach Not sure about inspirations, but the poem has its own small Wikipedia page...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_MowerBeen a while since I listened to Jethro Tull. Currently traveling, will check it out when I get back home.
