I'm still working towards the goal of running my websites off of solar power. Today, I started dithering images on my blog for faster loading. On the image below, I resized and dithered it, which reduced the file size by 93% (from 837KB down to 59KB). That's not as small yet as I'd like the images to be, but it's a good start.

@jrc03c heads up https://solar.lowtechmagazine.com/about.html the first comment here talks about getting better image quality and smaller sizes just by using jpg compression. I think the dithering was more of an a e s t h e t i c choice

@tulsi Ah, good to know. I'll look into it. I do like the aesthetics of dithering, though, so I may keep it anyway.
