I don't order a lot of products online, but when I do, I often get them delivered to work. Our shipper-receiver encourages people to do this, because he's a good guy and would rather us get our stuff at work than potentially have it get stolen off our front steps (which is not a rampant problem, but whatever). I need to stop doing this with Amazon, though, because they keep trying to deliver stuff at 8 p.m. (or later!), well after the building is closed for the day.

This is not a complaint about the couriers run ragged by Amazon. It's a complaint, mostly, about the fact that Amazon has these people out there trying to make deliveries at 8 p.m. (and, at least once, at almost 11 p.m.). That's shitty for the workers and annoying for me, because it means my 4-5 day delivery ends up being 1-2 weeks late, as they keep retrying at the wrong hours.

@ink_slinger i've always been really unimpressed by the lack of options regarding additional information to provide amazon? Even a "business / home" hours toggle could be a huge advantage.

@Shadejackrabbit That would make sense. It also help if the couriers could toggle on when the business is closed because, checking the delivery details, I see they've now twice attempted delivery at 10:30 p.m.The receiving office closes at 4:30 p.m. (and there's a sign outside that says as much).

@ink_slinger @ShadejackrabbitYou sweet summer children, you should see how stuff goes up North. All of our orders end up at an understaffed, undersized and underfunded post office. They've been "searching" for a package of mine since Monday.

@Shadejackrabbit @ink_slingerTo be fair, though, I have to agree with your point. Since 99% of deliveries aren't made in the North, a system to coordinate those more efficiently seems like something Amazon should've thought of.And I'm not talking about that creepy/stalky/insane Amazon accessible door lock of theirs.

@FssOfDeath @Shadejackrabbit Oh god, I forgot about that! Is it a real thing, or just a proof of concept deal?
