Picking a roommate is terrifying. It's like, meet with someone for fifteen minutes and try and figure if you'll be able to live together without killing one another.

I had four people lined up to come and look at the place tonight, of which three showed up. the first one was a post-grad in business management, he seemed very friendly and that is similar stage of life to me which I liked. the big downside is he likes to cook with a lot of space, because he's from Ivory Coast and I'm super sensitive to smells and I'm not certain that wouldn't drive me up the wall on occasion.

the second was a guy who's way ahead of me in life, old enough to have adult kids. seemed fine but I didn't really feel any connection there? He's had a lot of careers and I do know something just didn't seem there?

and the last one was a woman finishing off a degree in accountancy. she seemed fine, very friendly. fight at the same time she is still at the stage in her life where she's partying, though she says she goes out to party rather than staying in to party? plus she's leaving her last place due to conflict with another roommate, which I get weave all being there at work or school or with housemates, but is kind of worrying all the same...

well I've got another three people lined up to see the place tomorrow and a fourth Thursday so maybe they'll be someone so obvious that it makes the decision easy...

@Canageek trust your gut. if someone doesn't seem right, believe it.

@pericat @Canageek I totally second that. also we took an hour per person. that basically leaves the same problem, but your gut can make a little more informed decision, I guess?
