Me: Books a room in a B&B that specifically says it sleeps three people.B&B operator: Does your child still with you or in a separate bed? The extra bed is 40 euro per night.Me: Um...the listing says there is one double and one single bed in the room already...They haven't responded yet.

@ink_slinger This is a respectable B&B, couples are expected to sleep in separate beds a la I Love Lucy.

@sikkdays Ha! The also list three single beds as a possible configuration for the room (which leads me to suspect the double is actually two singles pushed together).

Still no answer, but I'm also thinking we're going to need to cancel and book elsewhere, anyway. Wife wanted to book at this place because it looks nice and kinda funky, but it's an hour out of town by public transit and we won't have a car (or car seat) so this is absurdly impractical. I just kinda went with it, but the more I think about it the worse it seems as an option, given the circumstances.

Now they're saying that, as you can see from our site, the single bed is not included in the price. Except, I can't see that, because it literally doesn't say that. What is actually says is: "One of our most spacious rooms. Fit for 3 guests. ( 1 double bed + 1 single bed or 3 singles beds)." Nothing there about "but one of those beds costs extra."

OK, we cancelled our reservation at the B&B with the inconsistent claims about how many people the room could sleep. We're now staying in a more traditional hotel much closer to the medieval part of the city. Slightly better price, actually sleeps three people, and is much more child-friendly (we could even hire a babysitter if we want an evening to ourselves, which is nice). It's not as "quaint," but I think this is a much better option.
