@karen yeah, I dont see a great value in saying "see what those other servers do? We do the same but it costs 2 euro", so I'm a bit puzzled myself, but I think the " taking work others do for free " stuff that some people post doesn't fit.

@lain i can see it causing concern since the non-commercial nature of fedi is one of the nicest things about it but yeah i don't think a business model like that will catch on

@lainThey should be within their right to do this but that doesn't protect them from being a laughingstock for attempting to thow forced monetization methods that a lot of fedi users have been trying to avoid. My major issue with it is that it's website seems to be made with the intention to mislead the user into thinking the Albin team was solely responsible for the software's creation with only a "oh yeah, btw it's a Mastodon fork" on the project's github.
