Reminder that once upon a time, every mainstream OS came with a Java interpreter.Nowadays, at least one of them *is* made largely in Java ☕

Talking about Java. You know there's now official OpenJDK builds for all large systems? There's even going to be a Musl Linux build but for now it's only available as an early-access preview https://jdk.java.net/11/JavaFX is now a community project as well and builds can be obtained from Gluon: https://gluonhq.com/products/javafx/

@espectalll you know, I actually don’t mind Java. Despite a lot of counter-circlejerk about it, I still think that it’s a fine language. Of course it’s not *the* best, but it’s pretty good.

@famicom I used to hate everything about Java: Java the runtime, Java the language and Java the ecosystem. Since Java 9 though, at least the two first things are now pretty decent, and the third is getting close.
