Is this the first series to have an explictly-disabled companion?

A throw-away line: "It's been so long since I had to buy women's clothes." So the Doctor's had to buy women's clothes before... 🤔

@noelle I believe so... but I'll have to put a bit more thought and research into it to be sure. :D

@noelle for at least two reasons I can think of! (1. companions complaining that he's ruined their outfits 2. "dressing as a woman" which he has done before canonically)

@noelle I call shenanigans on the very IDEA that most/any Time Lords really even buy into or care much for anything close to a gender binary. Also, I mean, I know for a fact if I was an ostensibly immortal, time-traveling being, I'd be buying whatever clothes seemed nice regardless.

@noelle I mean the two least exciting options (especially since we know how many regenerations he's had) he's had a number of female companions or his closet is stocked for has many potential regeneration's as possible

@noelle Left me wondering too. Though It's firmly established that he used up all the lives he had, so unless children have extra lives...

@noelle There's a Pertwee episode where he disguises himself as a cleaning lady at one point, but I just enjoy the implication that the Doctor's seen and done stuff that you don't get to see. Like Nine's famous "Lots of planets have a north" implying that some of them don't.
