Stop saying RSS is dead people. I'm literally using it to read your shitty article about how it's dead

@marxistpenguinist you have to admit that a lot less people using #RSS readers than they did at it's peak, and as a consequence, #Mozilla are considering removing the live bookmarks reader from #Firefox, and sites will be looking at their long-term support plan and wondering how long continuing to support RSS / Atom feeds will be worthwhile.

@strypey @marxistpenguinist I don't think so. less in percentage but not in absolute number, I'm pretty sure.If there is now 100x more people on the internet than 10 years ago, and RSS is only, let's say, used is used by the same amount of people, you'll feel like no one using it and it's dead while it haven't really changed

@marsxyz @marxistpenguinist so you're saying it's like email. Still used as much as ever, but lots of people have joined the net and preferred other tools? There does seem to be a generation thing with net media. I was came online just a little too young for #UseNet, and a little too old for centralized social media. I'm adapting to micro-blogging here and now social chat with Wire. My preferred groupware is still mailing lists and web forums (I do like #StackExchange style Q&A) #GetOffMyLawn ;)

@strypey @marxistpenguinist I don't know if I'm right, but that's how that feel to me.For example, even today usenet is still somewhat used.
