Treating two groups of people equally when they don't start out as actual equals merely perpetuates the initial inequality. True equality requires addressing and rectifying the initial inequality (at minimum to the satisfaction of the less-advantaged party).

@noelleThis is one of the things I run into as a transgender man.People of all orientations (even lgb) like to play this subtle game of "okay, you want to be treated like a cis man? Then you can't complain about transphobia, or arrange trans resources. Because real men don't complain."
