       @decripter37 @ADUB Do you take all your politics from works of fiction?

       @thebestpatrick @decripter37 @ADUB animal farm, having recently read it, is actually a super interesting story mirroring real life events, so I'd say it's worth reading (not to mention it's an overall fun book)

       @prydt @decripter37 @ADUB I mean, I've read it, it's ok. I think people overestimate Orwell's significance as a political thinker.

       @thebestpatrick @decripter37 @ADUB I would agree that it's overhyped in terms of political significance, but I'd still recommend it to people :)

       @prydt @thebestpatrick @decripter37 @ADUB at the risk of sounding sectarian, animal farm is trotskyist nonsense with eugenic undertones, given that the pigs are the smartest animals and that the allegorical elements of the story are often reductionistit's not a mirror of real-life events, but it's a decent work of fiction nonetheless. that didn't stop it from getting rejected 4 times, though

       @ADUB is this the true reason why cannibalism is frowned upon
