She-of-the-12-years is required by school to have an email address starting tomorrow.1) What's the freaking point? She is *12* for Pete's sake!2) I am scared when I think of all the kids in her class who are going to end with a gmail (or worse)...

@ParadeGrotesque That is quite ridiculous. I mean that assumes access to a mail server, probably the Internet and it seems perfectly reasonable to assume not everyone has Internet access. And even if that have access via the schools, that's not available all the time and therefore the communications can't be relied upon. If we spent as much time teaching our children properly & not inflicting technology on them we'd have much better level of education, including engineers, scientist & IT workers

@ParadeGrotesqueI thought many of the major providers didn't allow accounts until 13yrs? Mine has a forwarder in her name for game subs etc, which goes to my account, and that's it for now.
