       I would love to know Tagalog and Haitian Kreyól ended up with the same word ("bagay") for vague non-specific "things" and "stuff".

       @eldang Darn you for getting we wondering too!  It looks like it's just phonetic chance.  The Tagalog word is pretty pan Austronesian:  http://www.trussel2.com/acd/acd-s_b.htm#25002 while it looks like the Haitian comes from Old Norse (baggi) by way of Old French.  Seriously tho, thanks for the mind game. It was a great way to kill 1/2 Hr.  How did you happen to make that discovery if I might ask?
