Free software being available is amazing and there are many wonderful projects, but I can’t stand when people act as if free software versions of proprietary software are a full alternative and can do everything just as well they can. Admitting and accepting the problems with free software alternatives helps people make actual informed decisions and helps projects improve on the flaws.

@marmite The thing to keep clear in mind is; are you referring to 'free' as in free beer, gratis, costing nothing. or 'free' as in free speech, libre, in which case it might cost something. The second, 'free/libre' is the more important principle of the two.
