Forget food, I'm stockpiling loo paper.I've just discovered the UK imports ~90% of its toilet paper requirements, and most of that from the EU.I'm not going to resort to dock leaves (Rumex obtusifolius) come April. No way!#Brexit

@jamie Oh jeez! Yes.That was the stuff like greaseproof paper. Usually available in public loos. In that case I would use dock leaves instead.

@jamie We used to have it at primary school. They were rectangular sheets, z-folded into a cardboard box. So, as you pulled one sheet out the next one was readied into the correct position.Apparently, they still make Izal, but I can't find anyone selling it. This museum has some medicated Izal in a roll. @fitheach It really was terrible. It was so shiny that it couldn’t actually clean. You had to scrumple it up to make it more, um, effective and then suffer the side effect of making your bum bleed.It failed to achieve any of the necessary functions of toilet paper.

@jamie If I remember correctly, it could be used as tracing paper. Everything has its uses, even if it isn't the intended one.

@fitheach Rest assured, I would never joke about toilet paper!When I visited my relatives in the former German Democratic Republic shortly after the Berlin Wall fell, I had the pleasure to use east German toilet paper for the first time.Hell, wiping my butt with Sandpaper would have been way more comfortable.
