@grainloom oooh I always do cos the word reminded me of “registry” and also I don’t even know what regex is or what it does.

@paeneultima oh, that makes senseit's regular expression btwmy native language isn't English so I always pronounced it with a hard g in my head because that made more sense in my native language and then I learned what it abbreviates so now I'm sticking with it

@grainloom I feel you! And I learned a thing!I wonder what consensus is, but also I kind of feel like gif/gif and I try not to be a prescriptivist? I say do what feels good, and damn the torpedos.

@grainloom I say "regex" with a hard G but I've heard some people say "regex" with a soft G and it sounds much weirder to me than saying "gif" with a soft G tbh.
