Killing Eve has to be the worst box set I've watched a whole series of. To be fair, decent acting and some funny moments, but bad writing with many "this is too stupid" moments. (Like when a deadly assassin is chasing you with a gun, you stop the car and get out so you can have a chat with them?)Can those hours of my life back please? 😄

*Can I get those... (Please ignore the "bad writing" irony there 😄)

@peter 😁 I loved it. In all its mad, camp ridiculousness. Throwback to all the stupid shit BBC used to pump out.My unpopular opinion was that Bodyguard was trash. Here's to the dissenting voices. 🍻

@peter This is going to sound really, really dumb, but what exactly do "box set" and "series" mean in British English? I'm evidently not parsing those terms completely correctly...

@callahad By "box set" I mean a multi-part TV production - it's a bit anachronistic I guess (originating from the days of physical media) but a term that BBC iPlayer uses and I still hear quite often. By "series", I mean the first set of episodes (eight in this case) that are traditionally aired week-by-week in one season.

@callahad What terms would you use for those?

@peter Stateside, the show itself is called a "series," which groups episodes by annual seasons. The term "box set" never made the leap beyond physical media.Yanks would probably say "it has to be the worst series (or show) I've watched a whole season of."Looks like there's a whole Wikipedia subsection discussing the regional differences in terminology! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Television_show#Seasons/series

@peter Is "box set" especially used on streaming platforms to denote collections that have all episodes of a given series / season available?E.g., I've noticed a lot of shows on iPlayer and All 4 are incomplete because earlier episodes have expired.

@callahad Yeah I think you're right.. I just checked and all the ones under the iPlayer "Box Set" category appear to have at least one full season/series available.
