Worst UI I've seen in ages: Windows 10 change file type association. YOU CAN'T PICK A PROGRAM ON YOUR PC UNLESS IT HAS TOLD WINDOWS IT CAN HANDLE THAT FILETYPE. There is no way through windows to tell it to open txt files with notepad++ instead of notepad. Also you have to do most file types ONE AT A TIME. Do you know how many things I had to move over to VLC and Winamp one by one just now? FFFFFFFFFF

Now I have to dig up that tool someone wrote to do this, so every time I click one of the video tutorials I'm working on it doesn't try and load in windows horribly slow to load media player and instead loads in VLC in 1/10th the time.

I get why letting programs do this is a problem. I remember issues where you'd install a program to do one thing and it would take over every video file format. But this is NOT THE RIGHT WAY TO DO IT.

@Canageek I discovered this myself a few days ago and was equally enraged/baffled.

@Socks You can do it from the right click menu, but it seems that option doesn't always show up for some reason?

@Socks No idea. I've got them set to VLC now, but it is so inconsistent as to be annoying, and it wouldn't be hard to set an interface that let you select many file types at once, grouped them by type, and let you pick any exe you wanted to open them.

@Canageek especially when previous generations had similar (albeit basic) functionality. Million dollar boardroom idea: why improve it when you can just strip it?

@TheOuterLinux I have to use Powerpoint a fair bit, and word more often then I'd like. Honestly, powerpoint is the last thing holding me here, and Impress is just not nearly compatible enough.
