I know, since few monthes, I often propose to mutuals/fediversers to poke me if they need money. That's because I won 4900€ the first month I worked as a freelance, then ~3000€/month. With the gov paying for me most of the taxes I should pay, I have a lot of more than I need to live, right know. I am able to save between 1000 and 3000€ per month until febuary.I never had so much money. If I can help you, please ask, I don't want to be rich while you are in an awful situation.

@DarckCrystale Wow that's amazing ! How do you make so much ? How do you find your clients ? Do you realise complete new products or are you hired to fix some stuff / add a functionality ?

@alice - 175€ per day with only 15% of taxes on it because I asked for the ACCRE (for my xp and my job, it's usually more between 250-350 per day),- I use SSIIs, they have my contact and if they find a mission, they give it to me, or I have a group of freelance who give each others missions (Wexample)- I fix bugs and add functionalities for now, I will probably try to make open source systems from scratch later this year :)

@DarckCrystale Thanks for your answer. It's really impressive, the total amount per month you mentioned earlier is way above what I could hope for when I was working directly for IT companies. I'm always afraid I might lose my job at the lab (because it's temporary and I can't be sure I'll be able to stay more than a couple months) so I thought I should consider freelancing if I become unemployed.

@alice I think about making a tutorial, would it be useful for you?And without the ACCRE, taxes are more like 50% of what I earn, it explains why it's so big.

@DarckCrystale Not for the moment, and I really hope it won't become useful for me 🤞 ^^ So does that mean the taxes you'll pay will become higher the following years ?

@DarckCrystale @alice infrequent reminder that tax avoidance is morally wrong

@DarckCrystale Ok, that's understandable, it's a temporary help to get you started, frequent in self-employment situations.

@lupine @alice lol and taxes are given to big companies so that they can "hire more people" but instead they just give it to the riches on the top. I am okay with taxes when they are fair, but sorry, I prefer to give to people needing money to live instead of shareholders. The ACCRE is provided by gov to help freelancers to start their company. I will not refuse that kind of 'tax avoidance'.Said by the one who lived with 890€ before starting my mission.

@lupine @alice you shouldn't juge how people do before knowing how much they struggled.

@DarckCrystale @alice I'm not familiar with ACCRE, and couldn't find a quick english summary, so I phrased it non-judgementally :). If it's not actually self employment as a tax dodge, all's well.Your general critique of tax is indistinguishable from actual evaders though, and I'd hope that those of us who have suffered the greatest privations in life would be its greatest defenders

@lupine @alice I started my own company to stop giving half of the money I generated by working to people not working at all (the great chief of the company, the one who came to see us the workers to say that we made his dream come true when he sold the company I was working at to Comcast ; all he had done was creating the company and asking money to his friend to create it).

@lupine @alice I'm totally okay with taxes. I'm not ok with useless chiefs who steal my money, arguing they do more than me.
