       OK, that is creepy. Computer has a microphone mute button I keep turned on. I went into windows settings looking to fix something and the microphone volume button was still showing input even when I had it on mute. WTF.

       @Canageek I once had a USB headset (with mic) that had a mute button on the cord. One day my computer decided to start ignoring the mute button.
