if you're wondering, my activitypub improvement plan is essentially1. do common sense hardening in activitypub (expand the followers collection thus authorizing only the followers at a given moment)2. add some special sauce from second life (capability URIs, seeds)3. ???4. AP is fixed

@kaniini expanding the followers collection discloses it, though, which may or may not be wanted?

@Thib well, ~technically~ AP requires that you disclose it so that ~proper~ (ha ha) implementations can compute the entire delivery list when delivering to a remote collection.

@Thib i mean, sure, that works in theory.anyway, my plan was to have a setting for it.and maybe also a setting on the server side to generate separate messages to avoid disclosing the followers collection.

@Thib (either way, Hubzilla and Friendica solve this by expanding the collections, I think its best to follow the established norm, don't you?)

@kaniini also I'm not sure how much an improvement it is to post “private” message to *someone else's* followers to see over the current Mastodon situation (which isn't good).I guess I would like to post to the intersection of participant's followers, but that *does* require disclosing the follower collections.

@Thib I want to be able to post to the OP's followers without exposure to Eugen's decision to play with JSON-LD sigs

@Thib I also want to restrict visibility of followers-only type posts based on when people are or are not followers.the visibility level is "private", yet you have to lock your accountthis is not good, nor is it a safe design

@kaniini 0. Newer ever let a reply go to more people then the original toot. IE, if it not public - send reply only to original instance. The instances can implement useful stuff like G+ like circles. Follower only is broken as concept.

@kaniini And rename delete to unpublish in the UI. Giving the users the bare idea they *can* delete stuff they posted on the internet is misleading as best, fraud at worst.

@LaH just because Mastodon sucks at deleting doesn't mean Pleroma does.deletes in Pleroma are super effective and super deniable.but I agree with the sentiment, there's no way to be absolutely sure in fediverse

@kaniini and users can take screen-shots, save to disc. standalone clients can have copies even if instances are perfect.
