it's great because you can't pick up Windows XP without getting a DMCA or a C&D but you can easily download later versions of OS X

@aetios the G3 is from earlier than that and these builds are both from the year 2000

@espectalll ah but it *was* the g3 because it seems the g3 was produced between 98 and 03

@espectalll The Platinum theme. Aqua was too 3D much for my taste.

@strozzascotte it's OK, I think we can all agree both designs were miles away of XP's Luna tho :blobcatsip:

@espectalll I somehow really like the old design better.

@js Keep in mind that on the right was still 𝙣𝙤𝙩 final OS X – in particular, the dock changed a lot and the top bar quite a bit as well. But Aqua itself stayed pretty much intact.Platinum (the old design) had much more simple design elements and palette which make it look more calm, professional and polished, so I get why you may like it more. I prefer Aqua but I enjoy Platinum a lot as well.

@espectalll I was never a fun of the stripes. They later removed them, but st the same time made everything flat then. Each time I boot up OS9, I always think “This looks so nice”. Can’t say the same when I boot up an old OS X.

@js The stripes are indeed the least refined part, but also one which largely gave life to Aqua. They should have just toned the contrast down a bit but that's what we got x3
