benefits to having lots of followers:- meet lots of friends- get lots of replies and discussion and interaction with a community- your voice is hearddownsides:- as you become more "mainstream", you find that more and more of your followers *strongly* disagree with you on your takes (for me, that's politics and tech), and you get subtooted and screenshot dunked to hell and back- can't make jokes like "how dare you. me and my 87 adoring followers will murder you"- people cancel you for being a "fediverse celebrity"a real double edged sword if you ask me

@loki i have 1.5k followed and it's pretty uncommon for me to break 10 boosts on a post. people don't really seem to interact much here. either that or the majority of my followers are dead accounts. probably both

@lynnesbian @loki I have 300 followers, but I interact with maybe 1/10th of them. I follow 570 but only see about 1/10th of them in my home feed :joy: I think it's not the number of interactions you get but the quality that is higher here.At the end of the day you're both rockstars in my eyes 🚀
