I currently have a #Nextcloud server running on an old PC. I want to replace it with some sort of #SBC and am also considering #selfhosting alternatives like #FreedomBox, #Freedombone and #Yunohost. Can anyone recommend one of these over the others?

@yunohost @johnbeers For feature completeness... Yunohost is a great option. We're working on an alternative but if you'd prefer to just smush a button we'd recommend Yuno.

@cloud @yunohost I'm not adverse to following complex instructions but simple is better overall for me. (I used the #Snap package to install #Nextcloud rather the "proper" method.)

@cloud @yunohost Thanks for the suggestion. I've thought about #selfhosting my social media (preferably something with #ActivityPub since I use #Mastodon.) I see #YunoHost offers #Friendica and #Hubzilla. How hard are either of those to set up?

@yunohost @johnbeers we are not familiar with them...pleroma, plume and pixelfed are on our list for projects to implement. our devs have varying experience with these three...

@johnbeers We think it's moving in a good direction forward. We have been working on things for the last 9 months with as few gaps as possible. We have 2 primary devs/founders but they've been a little busy on and off the last few months.@kemonine is currently working on bringing Plume, Pleroma and Pixelfed docker images to our registry and will soon be looping back around to fill in some documentation for all 3.@jmf has been hard at work improving our documentation but has had some hardware hiccups that are slowing progress. We have people borrowing our docs / info as a basis for other things (one mastodon admin is using our o-droid hc2 infos and ideas as a backup server)photog.social is using our approach for all of their non-mastodon services (artodon, pinafore, halcyon, etc)We also self-host all of our services on lollipops. Our whole build infrastructure is backed by orange pi boards and an o-droid hc2, our public server is a scaleway arm vps (the smallest instance size). We have a full transparency report at https://lollipopcloud.solutions/page/transparency/ which breaks down our own infra fully.
