Showing my oldest son how to use an #RSS reader to get #Fortnite news was like revealing one of the secrets of the universe. He was so excited.#Parenting

@vinzv Thanks. Both my kids already use #DuckDuckGo over the alternatives, routinely tell my wife that Facebook spies on her, and use #Linux exclusively at home. They're probably the oddballs at school, but I try to educate them.

I'm conflicted on whether to upload example play videos of my #opensource #boardgame to #YouTube or #PeerTube. One is obviously more in line idealistically but the other has the potential for more viewers and accidental discovery.

@Chocobozzz Fair enough. I wasn't considering the fact that they don't have to be mutually exclusive. (I do, howevver, have a preference for one over the other as I've sought to de-Google my life as much as possible.)

@craigmaloney so did I miss where you said what band it was that just released the album?

Thanks for taking user input into account when developing new features or enhancing existing ones. @Tutanota rocks!

@Tutanota I tried importing an .ics file that was exported from the Simple Calendar mobile app but ran into an error saying the file was unreadable. Any thoughts? I do sync my calendar with Nextcloud. I'll try with the file exported from there and report back.

@Tutanota Would be nice to have this available offline as well. That aspect aside, thank you for the effort in providing an ecncrypted calendar.

I've generally stuck to Debian or derivatives on my old dualcore laptop due to diminishing 32-bit support, but I installed #openSUSE #Tumbleweed with #KDE on it last night. So far, 5.19 is impressive even on low spec machines. Great job @kde and @opensuse !

The tracking info says my #Pinetime is out for delivery today! Normally, I don't even wear a watch, let alone a smart one, but I'm looking forward to receiving it all the same.

Got my #Pinetime today. Updated the firmware to Infinitime 1.3 and messed around with some of the various functions. Very nice indeed, especially for the price! Great job @PINE64 and @JF.

I'm thinking of hosting a chat server of some sort for my family members as an alternative to SMS. It would need to be able to do private messaging as well as group chats with people being able to leave "rooms" whenever they want. Voice/video calls aren't necessary. Anyone have a suggestion?

@killyourfm Thanks for the share! I didn't know this was coming out. It has that NWOBHM vibe I haven't heard from them in a while. Good stuff indeed.

@killyourfm I miss real tickets that you could keep as a souvenir instead of the "your phone is your ticket" approach.

Version 0.4 of #image2sound is out! This is a #Python utility I wrote that converts images to sound. The newest version adds penatonic scales and the ability to specify a track length instead of having to resize the image beforehand.https://codeberg.org/jaerrib/image2sound

#image2sound development happens on #Codeberg, but the code is mirrored on #GitHub as well.https://github.com/jaerrib/image2sound
