@whtrbt Hey @ian, I bet you’ll like this article.Seeing projects like that give me hope that e-ink will continue to improve so that the applications for it expand.

@drisc @ian I love e-ink. My old model Kindle is one of my favourite devices... I'd love to try building a small computer around an e-ink screen one day when I know more.

@whtrbt @drisc I remember being fascinated by e-ink at a trade show my dad took me to probably at least a decade ago. I still think the technology is very cool, and love my Kindle, but the devices have never utilized e-ink like I wanted them to. Brennan and I send each other new e-ink tablets and displays when they become available, and there's always some failing with them.

@whtrbt @drisc See, I wanted an e-ink tablet to just carry around and do word processing on, but the refresh rate and ghosting really make that unpleasant. I'm not sure it'd be well suited for it. @brennan might be more up to date on the tech.

@ian @whtrbt @brennan There is a blog post here about a digital typewriter build by @Ninjatrappeur that I saw a few months ago, he explained a lot about the limits of refresh on the screen he was using: https://alternativebit.fr/posts/ultimate-writer/
