@neauoire Weird. Maybe Mac port is pretty bad. I mean: Inkscape is broken beyond repair but It shouldn't be THAT unstable :O

@TeddyDD Every first time I try to open it after a reboot, it opens itself 10 times, there's multiple instances of the same icon in the task bar that shows up until it crashes. Do you get that issue? It's very annoying.

@neauoire no, it's first time I heard about it. It launches in ~5 seconds. I use Linux tho. Maybe try to run it from terminal and report bug if it happens.

@TeddyDD Oh, it's super stable on Linux. That's on OSX, it's night and day.

@neauoire sorry to hear that. You might try to use inkview tool that is bundled with Inkscape. It's a simple svg viewer that (presumably) uses Inkscape rendering engine.

@TeddyDD I only ever open Inkscape to see if the Dotgrid SVGs import properly. I don't personally use it to make anything.Inkscape has some really weird issues with SVG import, like using an arc to draw a straight line crashes Inkscape, things like that. I just want to make sure I don't break compatibility.

@neauoire I think inkview might be useful in this case. It renders svg with Inkscape engine but it does not draw whole Inkscape UI and hopefully it will more stable. I'm not sure if it's bundled with mac os version tho.

@TeddyDD @neauoire The macOS port of Inkscape is absolutely terrible, it uses an old emulated version of XQuartz to provide the graphical environment, which is glitchy as hell and often doesn't properly communicate with macOS's native UI system

@gaeel @neauoire Good to know. Is that the case with every GTK program on Mac or it's just Inkscape?

@TeddyDD @neauoire Not sureI believe GIMP is a GTK program, and it works well, but I'm not sure I've tried any other GTK programs on Mac

@gaeel @TeddyDD I hav a few GTK apps, none of them seem to check for retina screen, so they all look blurry.

@neauoire @gaeel damn, GTK works fine with HDPI on linux. Fuck, people are surprised why Electron apps are so popular. That's why - native cross platform GUI is hard to write and sucks :/
