       After thinking a lot about the LUKS nuke patch, I’m a lot less excited about it. I encrypt my data because I want to know (and control) when that data is accessed. My password forces consensual access. Nothing I have is worth the ramnifications of providing a state actor a password that nukes data (not to mention they probably have a backup at this point anyways), nor is it worth someone taking a rubber hose approach to data access not believing that I no longer have access to the data.
