There is a table floating around where the ACCO takes credit for ~100Mt of emissions reductions over the life of the SGER (Alberta's carbon levy that ran from 2007-2017) and I am super skeptical of that.I wish I could find it, but some NGO did up a report (last year?) looking at the total emissions and concluded that SGER had no significant impact. The thing that had the biggest impact was the price of oil iirc.

I know first hand of several fuel switching projects that were undertaken for the obvious economic reasons (the price of natural gas for example) that got rolled up into that number and are taken as a win for SGER even though afaik the project leads didn't even know SGER existed. Also there was just a hell of a lot of open fraud on the credit side of the equation.
