@thegibson While everyone can have their opinions, factually it’s hackers.town. We have the numbers to back that up.

@TheGibson I feel that's kind of asking what the best community is. Some communities are better than others but I don't think it's so much of a pyramid as a plateau. After all, it depends on what you're looking for or what you expect.

@thegibson it seems fitting that there should be no one best instance. they all have agreed upon positive traits, and each one is the best for its chosen occupants

See, everyone's got opinions on it.I like infosec.exchange and cybre.space a good bit.Community is really what defines it though... and while I may be biased, for that, there is no substitute for hackers.townDefinitely the best instance.

@ryen @thegibson until .butt is available as a TLD and someone can host an instance on my.butt because....well, I mean. Who wouldn't enjoy logging on to my.butt, taking part in the discourse on my.butt.

@thegibson @scearley I back this proposal, especially if it means I can secure the username @touch.

@TheGibson I like rolling the dice, picking a few chill places with different foci, then cross-polinating when interests overlap. It seems to me more in the fedi principle than single-homing.

@thegibson There’s many wonderful freak shows on the Fediverse, but hackers.town is my kind of freak show.
